Monday night on KWAY Country the Waverly-Shell Rock boys beat Charles City 55-43 to advance to the Class 3A State Basketball Tournament. It was a heated game in which the Go-Hawks took the lead in the 2nd quarter and never gave it back. Junior Luke Velky led Waverly-Shell Rock with 19 points in the victory with 16 in the second half. The State Tournament for Class 3A begins on Tuesday.
