Monday night on KWAY Country the Waverly-Shell Rock baseball team split with New Hampton. The Chickasaws took Game 1 4-0 to secure at least a share of the Northeast Iowa Conference championship. In Game 2 the Go-Hawks broke a 2-2 tie after a lightning delay in the top of the 7th inning to win 3-2.
The Go-Hawks need Waukon to beat New Hampton on Wednesday and they need to sweep Decorah on Friday if they want to split the NEIC crown with New Hampton.
Waverly-Shell Rock baseball will be back in action Tuesday night on KWAY Country AM 1470 FM 96.3. Tuesday evening the 19-10 Go-Hawks travel to play the 19-8 South Winneshiek Warriors. Pre-game at 6:45 and first pitch at 7:00.
