Monday night on KWAY Country the Waverly-Shell Rock and Benton Community basketball teams split a doubleheader. In the girls game the Bobcats edged the Go-Hawks 45-42 despite 14 points from Katelyn Eggena. Both teams are now 9-3. In the boys game the Go-Hawks got off to a 20-10 lead after the first quarter and won 53-41. Keaton Farmer led all scorers with 21 points.
Monday night in boys basketball: Waterloo Christian topped Clarksville 69-59, Belle Plaine edged Don Bosco 48-46, Janesville beat Riceville 66-50 and Gladbrook-Reinbeck got by Sumner-Fredericksburg 73-49.
In girls basketball: Clarksville nipped Waterloo Christian 47-44 and Sumner-Fredericksburg beat Gladbrook-Reinbeck 51-32.
