W-SR State Dance Results

The Waverly-Shell Rock (WSR) Dance Team delivered an extraordinary performance at the 2026 Iowa State Dance & Drill Team Association (ISDTA) State Championships, earning top placements in all three divisions they entered. An achievement that fulfilled and surpassed the team’s season-long goal.

Founded in 1976, Iowa State Dance Team Association (ISDTA) celebrated a historic milestone as dancers from across the state took the floor for the 2026 ISDTA State Dance Team Championship, held December 3-5 at the Casey’s Center and EMC Expo Center

in Des Moines. This year marks the 50th Anniversary of ISDTA, commemorating five decades of elevating dance, drill team, and color guard in Iowa.

“We DID IT!” said Varsity Head Coach Jori Wade-Booth. “Our goal this year was to place in all three divisions, and not only did this team rise to that challenge, they soared. To walk away with two second-place finishes, a third-place finish, and two major program awards speaks to our dancers’ drive, character, and the pride they take in representing WSR.”

Coach Wade-Booth credited the dancers’ work ethic and the program’s strong community of support for making this season exceptional. Dancers begin practicing and preparing in May. Rehearsals are at 6 a.m. on weekdays and Sunday evenings throughout the season.

“This team shows up for each other every single day. Their dedication, leadership, and love for this program shaped every moment on that floor. I couldn’t be prouder.”

The WSR Dance Team also expressed gratitude to the program’s families and supporters. “Our dance parents are unmatched,” Wade-Booth added. “Our success is possible because of their endless support.”

The Go-Hawk Dance will perform its award-winning state pom routine on Tuesday, Dec. 16 at half-time of the varsity basketball game. For more information about the team, visit www.htosports.com/wsrdanceteam.
