Tuesday night on KWAY Country the Waverly-Shell Rock basketball teams swept Oelwein to start the conference season.
In the girls’ game the Go-Hawks won 70-11. The Huskies didn’t score until 54.4. seconds remaining in the first half. Abbie Draper lead W-SR with 17 points, Olivia Phillips added 15, Laura Bates had 14 and Kenzier Roling chipped in 10.
In the boys’ game Waverly-Shell Rock won 73-60. Freshman Hogan Hansen scored 36 points which is tied for 3rd most in a game in school history behind Joe Green’s 42 and Fred Grawe’s 43 points in a game.
