Listen Friday to the Class 1A Boys State Basketball Championship Game on Y99.3. This afternoon the 8-seeded Wapsie Valley Warriors will take on 2-seeded Bishop Garrigan for the title. Pregame will begin at 1:45 with tip-off at 2:00 live from Des Moines. Tickets are not being sold to the public. Each school is getting 100 passes to use for team personnel and a very limited number of fans. Wapsie Valley is having a gathering at the school to support the boys from afar.
In scores from the tournament Thursday: in 1A consolation Mentezuma beat West Fork 76-72; in 2A consolation Camanche beat Treynor 77-66; in 3A semifinals Norwalk topped Ballard 79-61 and Sergeant Bluff-Luton beat Clear Creek-Amana 55-46; in 4A semifinals Waukee edged Ankeny Centennial 68-62 and Ankeny beat Cedar Falls 71-57.
