On Friday the Wapsie Valley Warriors boys basketball team won its first State Championship. The 8-seeded Warriors defeated 2-seeded Bishop Garrigan 65-53 in the title game in front of a small but enthusiastic crowd. Gunner Meyer and Kiks Rosengarten were named to the All-Tournament Team. After 37 years and 8 trips to State this is the first title for coach Marty McKowen.
