A Waterloo man has been sentenced after being charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm. 27 year old Dreyon Grant threatened another man who was accompanying a woman to Grant’s apartment to retrieve some belongings. While there Grant took a backpack from the man and threatened him with a knife. When the man continued to follow Grant, he called a friend to bring him a handgun, which he used to threaten the man again. Police found a 9mm Taurus handgun in a common area of the apartment building. Grant was not allowed to have a firearm after a prior burglary conviction. He has been sentenced to two years and eight months in prison with three years of supervised release following the prison sentence.
