Police are investigating the death of a Waterloo teen over the weekend. A call came in around 8:15 on Sunday morning that a person was lying face down on the sidewalk near the intersection of Courtland and Vinton streets. Once police arrived on scene, they found 16 year old Tayshaun Jenkins dead. They initially treated the case as a hit and run and while they have not ruled that out at this point they are considering other possibilities as well. An autopsy on Jenkins has been scheduled. High winds Sunday hindered the Waterloo Police’s attempts to process the scene.
