Last week the Waverly Police Department was called to the 1900 block of Heritage Way in reference to a disturbance call. When they arrived on scene they heard a female voice yelling for help from inside an apartment. As police entered the apartment they observed a male straddling a female on the floor. 33 year old Jonathan Vieira was arrested and charged with Domestic Abuse Assault- Impeding Air/Blood Flow Causing Bodily Injury and Child Endangerment. He was taken to the Bremer County Jail.
