The Don Bosco Dons lost a heart-breaker in the Class 1A State Baseball Semi-Finals 2-1 to West Sioux. The Dons took a 1-0 lead into the bottom of the 7th inning. West Sioux then was able to reach on an infield pop-up single and then score that runner to tie the game 1-1. West Sioux then walked off with victory with this suicide squeeze.
With the 2-1 win West Sioux advances to the Class 1A State Championship Saturday where they’ll take on Remsen-St. Mary’s. Don Bosco finishes the year with a 35-4 record.
Friday at the State Baseball Tournament in Des Moines are the 3A and 4A semi-final games.
