Cedar Falls has released some of their crime stats for 2019. Crime on the whole is down in Cedar Falls by nearly 2%. They had just over 2,100 reportable crimes last year. Calls for service actually increased by more than 2.5% over 2018. Arrests, however, were down more than 3% with 944 arrests. In the last decade crime has gone down in Cedar Falls by nearly 18%. According to FBI statistics the crime rate in Cedar Falls is well below the average crime rate in Iowa and in the United States.
