Halloween and Christmas Events Canceled

Thursday Waverly Mayor Adam Hoffman announced that door to door trick-or-treating in Waverly would be happening Halloween night from 5:00-7:30 p.m.

Friday we learned that the Waverly Chamber of Commerce is canceling two of their big holiday event. The downtown trick-or-treat event Jack-o-Lantern Night has been canceled and December’s Christmas Greetings on Main is also not happening.

The chamber said in a Facebook post, “It is with heavy hearts that we announce the cancellation… Please note that this decision did not come easily, and was made with the safety of our beloved community being our top priority.”

The chamber will be holding a Virtual Pumpkin Carving Contest in late October and a Holiday Drive-In Movie Night as Christmas approaches.
