Waterloo Woman Wins Powerball

A Waterloo woman has won a $100,000 Powerball prize, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 37 year old Sarah Baxter matched four of the five white balls and the powerball in last Saturday’s drawing which resulted in a $50,000 prize but she had also purchased the power play for an extra dollar. That doubled the prize to $100,000. She says the money will go toward paying off her home. She says it will shave 20 years off of her mortgage meaning she will have it paid off in about 7 years. The ticket was purchased at the Road Ranger in Elk Run Heights. Saturday’s numbers were 3-21-23-31-59 and the powerball was 3. Nobody won the jackpot, so this Saturday’s jackpot is estimated at $321 million.
