Cedar Falls Police are investigating a crash involving a semi-truck and three vehicles that sent two people to the hospital.
First responders were called to the intersection of Highway 58 and Ridgeway Avenue around 6 p.m. Tuesday. An ambulance took two people to Allen Hospital. Another person had minor injuries, but didn’t need transport. Authorities say they aren’t ready to release the condition or names of those hurt.
Police say a pick-up truck traveling eastbound on Ridgeway Avenue ran a red light, leading to a series of collisions involving another pick-up, a car, and a semi-truck on Highway 58.
The crash ruptured the fuel tank of the semi-truck, which held over 100 gallons of diesel fuel. Authorities rerouted traffic for nearly two hours while crews removed the vehicles and cleaned up the fuel.
