Byrnes Pool in Waterloo has been forced to close for the season, according to KWWL. A mechanical pump failure is the culprit for the closure. A new pool will be built in Byrnes Park later this year. The goal is to have the new pool open by next summer. Those that are currently signed up for swimming lessons will be contacted directly. Some of the lessons will be moved to the Cedar Valley SportsPlex.
