The process of replacing Waverly’s city pool is underway.
Mayor Mark Anderson says the council is making some changes to lower the cost of the pool.
Below is the official wording of the change order:
A Resolution approving Change Order No. 2 for the Waverly Aquatic Center.
WHEREAS, Change Order No. 2 is for deduction amount of $109,533.00 from Woodruff
Construction; and
WHEREAS, a deduction of $42,238.00 will be for changes to the front entrance. Two wood
trusses to match the design of the mechanical room. Replacing windows on the pool side with louvers
and add 1 x 6 treated cedar plan as a ceiling. All drywall will be removed, except for room 102
(Chemical Room), 103 (Chemical Room) and 106 (Electrical Room). Rigid insulation will be installed
in the electrical room to allow for heating and cooling; and
WHEREAS, a deduction of $54,095.00 will be to replace longboard siding with LP siding.
Vented soffit and aluminum trim remain as designed; and
WHEREAS, a deduction of $12,450.00 in turf costs. This will result from coordination
between general contractor and subcontractor. The turf will remain unchanged; and
WHEREAS, a deduction of $750.00 for street patching. This work will be completed in house
by the Public Services Department; and
WHEREAS, the total cost of the deduction is $109,533.00; and
WHEREAS, the project was approved during the June 2, 2025, City Council meeting; and
WHEREAS, there was one change order for a contract amendment – retainage, which was
approved at the July 7, 2025, City Council meeting; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Waverly, Iowa
does hereby approve Change Order No. 2 for an deduction amount of $109,533.00 from Woodruff
Construction for the Waverly Aquatic Center.
