A Waterloo woman led law enforcement on a high speed chase beginning in Hudson early Sunday morning. Hudson Police pulled over a vehicle driven by 29 year old Simmisha Van Arsdale at around 2:00 a.m. for allegedly going 68mph in a 55mph zone along Highway 63. Van Arsdale allegedly refused to identify herself so the police officer requested assistance from the Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Office. Once that deputy arrived Van Arsdale took off. Stop sticks were deployed and punctured Van Arsdales back passenger tire. Despite this, Van Arsdale allegedly reached speeds of 120mph on Highway 63 as she fled. The tire came off entirely near the intersection of Highway 63 and Southland Drive but Van Arsdale continued on. The chase continued until Van Arsdale lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway, rolled, and came to rest upside down. Two passengers in Van Arsdale’s vehicle reported minor injuries. Van Arsdale has been charged with Eluding, Driving While License Suspended, Reckless Driving, Providing False Identification Information, Speeding, and Violating One-Way Traffic Designation. She also had a warrant out for her arrest for multiple drug offenses and third degree Theft out of Black Hawk County.
