Man Fired Gun Near High School

A Waterloo man was arrested after he allegedly fired a gun near the Wapsie Valley High School on Friday, according to KWWL. The Bremer County Sheriff’s Office was called to the 2400 block of Viking Avenue at around 11:30am on a report of a gunshot. When deputies arrived on scene they learned that 31 year old William Shindoll had fled into a nearby field. Shindoll was later found through the use of drones and taken into custody three hours after law enforcement arrived on scene. Shindoll was charged with Going Armed With Intent, first degree Harassment, Assault While Participating in a Felony, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm. The school was placed under a shelter in place order for the three hours during the incident.
