An arrest has been made as part of an investigation into a fatal shooting in Waterloo on Monday, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 35 year old Michael Alexander Jr. was found in a driveway suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. As part of the investigation, police searched a home on Flower Street where they found a handgun and a bag of marijuana, which were in the possession of felon and domestic abuser, Tramaine Gary. Gary has been charged with Felon in Possession of a Firearm and drug charges. He is being held without bond pending a probation violation hearing for his 2023 domestic assault conviction. Gary has not been charged for the shooting at this time. Alexander was a Waterloo native but had relocated to California. He had come back to Waterloo in order to attend a funeral. He was standing outside waiting for a ride to the service when he was shot. This was the second confirmed murder in Waterloo this year.
