A tragic accident has left a young man clinically brain dead.
According to a family statement, Logan Luft was in an ATV accident Tuesday, July 4th, in Charles City. Luft was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital for a severe brain injury but unfortunately his condition did not improve. According to the family’s CaringBridge site, he was pronounced clinically brain dead at 4:54 pm Wednesday. The latest post on the site indicates Luft will be kept on life support until Friday morning as his organ recipients are being chosen.
His family thanks everyone for the outpouring of support and prayers. According to Charles City Schools, Luft would be going into 9th grade this fall.
