A Cedar Falls man who allegedly drunkenly drove his car into a lake behind his house has now been charged, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. In the early morning hours of July 24th 58 year old Troy Love called his girlfriend to tell her he was coming over. Love told investigators while he was on the phone with her he started to feel water in his car and thought he was going to die. The girlfriend called a neighbor and asked them to check on him. The neighbor was able to get Love out of the car. Authorities observed empty alcoholic beverage containers floating in the car when they arrived and could smell alcohol on Love. His blood alcohol level was measured at .166. He has now been charged with OWI.
