A New Hartford man has been arrested after escaping from the Waterloo Residential Facility shortly before he was set to be released, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 34 year old Duane Baker was originally sentenced to up to 10 years in prison after being convicted of Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine. He was transferred to the residential facility on April 22nd and was scheduled to be released on May 9th. On April 30th he ran away from the facility without authorization. Later that day police encountered Baker, who had allegedly ingested fentanyl and was having a mental health crisis. On Thursday he was charged with Escape from Custody.
