Former Charles City Superintendent Mike Fisher has entered into a settlement agreement for engaging in inappropriate enrollment practices and submitting fraudulent requests for reimbursement of expenses, according to the Oskaloosa Herald. The Board of Educational Examiners say Fisher enforced an enrollment reporting policy which violated state enrollment reporting requirements. Fisher defended himself by saying that the enrollment practices were interventions to prevent students from dropping out. He did not dispute the fraudulent requests for reimbursements, but said he learned from his mistakes. Fisher is currently the superintendent at Oskaloosa. That school district says they fully support Fisher and are happy for him to lead them. Waverly Shell Rock fans may remember Fisher as one of the foremost voices calling for them to be kicked out of the Northeast Iowa Conference on the basis of character.
