Man Arrested for Being Drunk at the Court House

A Charles City man has been arrested for the second time in 30 days for allegedly being drunk at the Floyd County Courthouse. The probation officer for 45 year old Erik Gordon contacted the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office on the 21st shortly after 11am saying that Gordon smelled strongly of alcohol. Gordon told deputies he had vodka the night prior. His Blood Alcohol Content was measured at .09%. Back on April 23rd he admitted to consuming alcoholic beverages prior to entering the building. On both occasions he was charged with Public Intoxication. On April 2nd Gordon pleaded guilty to OWI from an incident in October when Charles City Police found him passed out behind the wheel of his vehicle in the middle of the road. His BAC was measured at .368% on that occasion. For that, he was sentenced to 30 days in jail with all but two days suspended. With the new charges Gordon faces a probation revocation hearing on June 20th.
