Man Arrested With Crack After Chase

A Waterloo man was arrested early Monday morning after police allegedly found crack cocaine that the man had thrown out of his car window while leading police on a chase, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. Police stopped a Dodge Journey in the 700 block of Logan Avenue at around 12:25 Monday morning for a malfunctioning license plate light. The driver, identified as Dawan Taylor, initially was compliant before abruptly pulling away. He eventually stopped again, at which point police say they found a large amount of cash on Taylor’s person and found a bag with 14 smaller bags of crack along the chase route. Taylor has been charged with Eluding, Possession of Crack With Intent to Deliver, and Violation of the Drug Tax Stamp Act.
