A business owner says she’ll close her Cedar Falls skin care products shop because officials rejected her pink storefront.
The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports Krista Dolash will close her Main Street business and open a store on Iowa City’s pedestrian mall, where she’s been allowed to have a pink storefront.
Council member Dave Wieland asked City Council members Monday night to reconsider its denial of the pink storefront but received no support. He compared the city’s position to telling John Deere it couldn’t feature the colors green and yellow.
In opting to close her business, called Root, Dolash criticized officials, saying “our branding is not welcome here.”
