Tuesday night the Waverly-Shell Rock baseball split with New Hampton to keep their hopes alive for a conference title. Waverly-Shell Rock lost 1-0 in 8 innings in game 1 and won 4-0 in game 2 in a well played doubleheader. Wednesday night at 7:30 the Go-Hawks will host Aplington-Parkersburg on The Winner AM 1470.
Tuesday night in area baseball: Colo-Nesco beat Tripoli 11-1 and West Hancock edged North Butler 10-9.
Tuesday night the Waverly-Shell Rock softball team swept Crestwood winning 9-1 and 5-0. With the sweep the Go-Hawks become the first softball team to go undefeated in the North East Iowa Conference with a 15-0 conference record.
Tuesday night in area softball: BCLUW crushed Dike-New Hartford 12-0, Cedar Rapids Kennedy swept Waterloo East 10-1 and 5-0, Colo-Nesco beat Tripoli 16-6, Waterloo Columbus topped Denver 4-2 and Union shutout Hudson 5-0.
