Wednesday night in Sub-State Soccer on KWAY Country AM 1470 FM 96.3 the Waverly-Shell Rock boys ended their season by losing to Benton Community 2-1. The Go-Hawks had a 1-0 lead at halftime thanks to a Jordan Downing goal with 14:34 left in the first half but Benton scored 2 second half goals to win. The Go-Hawks had shots in the final seconds that just didn’t come through for them. Waverly-Shell Rock ends its season with a 10-4-1 record.
